Set Up a Repeat Job

Work That Comes Round Again

Some jobs repeat on a clock: quarterly lock checks at an office park, an annual rekey of the common areas, a lock service every six months. A recurring job tells KeyBolt to put that job on the board for you when the date arrives, so it never depends on anyone remembering.

It's on both plans, and you set it up on the customer, not on the Jobs page.

This creates a job. It does not bill anything. If what you want is a standing charge that invoices itself, that's a service agreement, a different section on the same page. See Service agreements.

Setting One Up

  1. Open the customer and find Recurring Jobs.
  2. Tap Add.
  3. Pick the Service Type: rekey, lock install, access control, whatever the visit is.
  4. Set Repeat Every (months), anywhere from 1 to 60.
  5. Set the Next Due Date, the date of the next visit.
  6. Add a Description so whoever picks it up knows the scope, like "Annual rekey for all units".
  7. Save it.

What Happens Then

Once a day KeyBolt checks every active schedule. When one comes due it creates a scheduled job for that customer, using the customer's address and your description, and moves the next due date forward by your interval. Nobody has to do anything.

If a schedule has been paused or overlooked for a long stretch, KeyBolt creates one job to catch up rather than one for every cycle you missed, and it puts that job on today instead of burying it back on the date it was originally due.

Seeing What's Coming

Repeat jobs show on the Coming due panel on your Dashboard, in one list with property rekeys, soonest first. They appear 30 days ahead of the date. The customer's own page lists all their schedules with the next date on each.

Pausing and Deleting

Each schedule reads Active or Paused. Pause one and KeyBolt stops creating jobs but keeps the setup, which is what you want while a building is between managers. Delete it when the account is genuinely over.

Set the date to the visit, not to today. The next due date is when KeyBolt puts the job on the board. Put in the real date of the next visit and the first job lands on the right day.
