Quick Dispatch for Lockouts

When Every Second Counts

Lockouts are your bread and butter — and they're always urgent. A panicked customer locked out of their car in a parking lot doesn't care about your scheduling workflow. They need someone now. Quick Dispatch is built for exactly this situation.

How to Use Quick Dispatch

  1. Tap the + button and select "Quick Dispatch" (or use the lightning bolt icon if visible).
  2. You'll see a single screen with four fields:
    • Customer name
    • Phone number
    • Address / Location — where the lockout is happening
    • Service type — defaults to Residential Lockout. Tap to switch to Car Lockout or Commercial Lockout.
  3. Tap "Dispatch Now".

That's it. Three fields and a button. The entire process takes about 15 seconds.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

When you tap "Dispatch Now," KeyBolt does several things at once:

  • Customer lookup — if the phone number matches an existing customer, the job is linked to that record. If not, a new customer is created automatically with the name, phone, and address you entered.
  • Job created — with the selected service template, default pricing, and scheduled for right now.
  • Status set to Dispatched — skipping the "Scheduled" step since this is an emergency call.
  • Tech notified — if you've assigned the job to a tech, they get a push notification and SMS with the job details and address.
Tip: Quick Dispatch is designed for emergency calls that need immediate attention. For scheduled work like rekeys or lock installs, use the standard job creation flow — it gives you more control over timing and details.

After Dispatch

The job appears in your Today view with Dispatched status. The assigned tech (or you, if solo) taps "Start Route" to move to En Route, then "Arrived" when on site. The rest of the flow is identical to any other job.
