Put More Than One Tech on a Job
One Primary, Any Number of Helpers
A big rekey or a commercial install often takes two people. Open the job and use the Team section, just under the assigned tech. Every job has one primary tech, marked with a star, plus any helpers you add. Owners, managers, and dispatchers can change who is on a job. It works on both plans.
Add a Helper
- Open the job.
- In the Team section, tap Add tech.
- Pick a name from the list.
Each name shows whether that person is On duty, Off, or on Time off, so you do not send someone who is not working.
Why It Matters on Site
Adding a helper is also how they get to the job. If your shop limits what techs can see, someone who is not on the job's team cannot open it at all, so it would not be on their phone. Once they are on the team they can open the job, see its photos, and read its history, and they are not locked out when they arrive.
How the Money Splits
KeyBolt works out the tech share exactly as it always does. See Tech Commissions and Payouts for that math. When more than one tech is on the job, that tech share is then divided among them, split evenly by default. If you have set up a split scenario with weights, KeyBolt uses those instead. Parts a tech bought with their own money are always paid back to that tech, on top of their share.
So adding a helper does change what the primary takes home. Put the people who actually worked the job on it, and nobody else.
Change Who Leads
Tap Make primary next to a helper's name to swap who owns the job. You cannot remove the primary directly: make somebody else primary first, then remove them.
What a Helper Cannot See
A helper sees the job, its photos, and its history. They do not see the bill amount, the payments, or the customer's key codes. That stays with your office roles. See Owner Privacy Controls.
