For automotive work

Car lockouts, key programming, and the code you need on the roadside.

Automotive work is roadside work. You are in a parking garage, a driveway, or the shoulder of a road, usually with the customer standing next to you, and usually with no bars on your phone.

What actually goes wrong.

No signal exactly where the work is.

Parking garages and underground lots are where cars get locked, and where cloud software stops working.

The vehicle details you need are somewhere else.

Make, model, year, and what you did last time. If that is in a notebook in the shop it is no use to you at the car.

Getting paid at the roadside.

The customer is standing there with a phone and a card. Anything that involves invoicing them later is money you might not see.

Volume of small jobs.

Automotive is lots of short jobs rather than a few long ones, so every minute of admin per job multiplies.

Being straight with you.

KeyBolt does not do key programming or store transponder data, and it does not integrate with your programmer. It handles the job, the customer, the codes, and the money around that work. Tap to Pay is iPhone only today; on Android you send a pay link instead.

Questions.

Does it really work with no signal?
Yes, for the parts that matter at the car: jobs, customers, photos, notes, key codes, and stock counts. Invoices and payments need a connection, because settling money from a stale copy is a bad idea.
Can I store transponder or programming data?
You can store key codes, bitting, and free-form notes per vehicle. There is no dedicated transponder database and no integration with programming tools.
Can I take payment at the roadside?
On iPhone, yes, with Tap to Pay: the customer taps their card or phone against yours, no reader needed. On Android you send a pay link they can open on their phone.
How fast can I create the job at the car?
The quick flow is one screen. Most shops make and start a job in well under a minute, and the customer record fills in if you have worked with them before.
