Add Photos to a Job
Proof of the Work
A photo of the damaged frame before you touched it, or the finished install after, is the cheapest insurance in this trade. When a property manager asks six weeks later what they paid for, you open the job and show them.
Job photos are on both plans.
Adding a Photo
- Open the job.
- Find the photos section and tap Add Photo.
- Take one with your phone camera or pick one from your library.
The photo attaches to the job and everyone who can see that job can see it.
Size and Format
Photos must be under 5 MB. In practice you'll almost never hit that: KeyBolt shrinks the image on your phone before it uploads, so a big phone photo usually lands well under a megabyte. That also means uploads work on a weak signal in someone's basement.
If you do get told a photo is too big, take it again at a lower resolution.
What to Photograph
- Before, existing damage, the state of the frame, the old hardware. This is the one that settles arguments.
- After, the finished work.
- The part, model numbers and stampings you'll want later.
- Access details, the gate, the lockbox, where to park. Your future self will thank you.
Photos on a Lead Instead
If the photo came from the customer before the job existed, it belongs on the Colab. See Replying to a Customer from a Colab.
