Set Up Job Statuses and Completion Proof
With Dispatch board enabled, the owner can set up the shop's job statuses in Settings > Job statuses. Give each status a clear name and choose what it does. The name alone does not determine whether a work timer runs or a trip ends.
Choose the Behavior
Use the available behavior for the stage you mean: planned work, driving, working, paused, on hold, completed, or cancelled. Working runs the job timer; paused stops it while the tech stays on site. On hold ends an unfinished trip so a return can be booked.
Office-only statuses are for the office's follow-up. They do not give a tech financial access or make a bill paid. Colors help distinguish stages, but the label and behavior are what matter.
Require Proof Before Completion
Set the offered photo, note, or signature requirements for a status. When someone chooses it, KeyBolt asks for missing proof. Upload or save the required items, then confirm the status change. Until it succeeds, the job status and timer stay unchanged.
Use the Statuses on a Job
Open the job and choose the appropriate action. Only statuses your role can use are offered. Use Pause and Resume for a break on site, and the hold workflow for a return trip. See Job Status Workflow.
If the Controls Are Missing
Ask the owner to check Settings > Features and your role. Turning Dispatch off hides custom statuses while keeping the jobs and schedule. Tech app controls can differ by installed version; use the web workspace for office configuration.
