Import Your Inventory From a Spreadsheet

Already keep your stock in a spreadsheet? Import it instead of typing it in. Tap Import at the top of the Inventory page, upload a CSV, and check the columns before anything is saved.

Up to 5,000 rows at a time. Split a bigger file. Owners, managers, and dispatchers can run an import. This is on both plans, Basic and KeyBolt Pro.

Running an Import

1. Go to Inventory and tap Import.
2. Choose your CSV or drop it on the box.
3. Tell KeyBolt what the file should do:
   • Catalog action: add new and update matches, add new and skip matches, or update matches only.
   • Match existing items by: SKU, or barcode or scan code. This is how KeyBolt decides a row is an item you already have.
   • Quantity column: do not change stock, set the counted balance, or add and subtract the amount in the file.
   • Default location, where the stock lands. A Location column in your file beats this, row by row.
4. Check the column matches. KeyBolt guesses which of your headings is the name, the SKU, the quantity and so on, and you fix any it got wrong. You have to match one column to Name. Updating also needs the matching column you chose above.
5. Run it.

Afterwards

You get a summary page for the run: the file name, how it matched, and a row-by-row result marked Completed, Skipped, or Needs review. If some rows failed, fix them in the file and tap Retry failed rows to run just those again.
