Register Your Shop for Business Texting
Why You Have to Register
US carriers require every business to register before it can text customers from a business number. This is a carrier rule, not a KeyBolt rule, and there is no way around it. Until it is approved, your texts will not go out. Your calls work the whole time.
Find it in Phone & SMS (left sidebar), on the Setup tab, as step 3, Register for A2P 10DLC. On a phone, tap More, then Phone & SMS.
How to Register
- Open step 3 on the Setup tab. KeyBolt fills in what it already knows about your shop.
- Check every field: legal business name, address, email, and phone. These have to match what the government has on file for your business.
- Submit. KeyBolt files it for you and shows the status right on the card.
There are two stages and the card shows both. Your Brand is your business itself. Your Campaign is the kind of texts you send. Both have to be approved before texting works.
How Long It Takes
A sole proprietor is usually approved in hours. Other business types take a few days. You do not have to sit and watch; the card updates on its own.
If It Comes Back Rejected
Rejections are almost always a mismatch in your business details, like a name that does not match your registration or an address in the wrong format. The card prints the exact reason in red. Fix what it names, then resubmit from the same card. If only the campaign was rejected, you resubmit just the campaign, not your whole business.
What Still Works While You Wait
- Inbound and outbound calls on your shop line.
- Email replies from a Colab, which never touch your text line.
- Google LSA auto-replies, which go through Google rather than your text line.
