Answer Calls From Your Computer
Take Shop Calls on Your Computer
On KeyBolt Pro you can answer and place shop calls right in your browser, on any computer, without your cell ringing. There is nothing to install. Stay signed in to KeyBolt and the softphone rides along on every screen.
The first time you use it, KeyBolt shows a one-time notice about 911 calls. Read it and tap I understand.
Turn On Browser Ringing First
Browser ringing is off until you switch it on, and it is per person, not per shop.
- Open Settings, then the Account tab.
- Find Where calls ring you.
- Tick My browser (softphone). Leave My cell phone ticked too if you want both.
You still only get rung during your scheduled hours. The shop owner sets those in Phone & SMS under Tech availability.
Answering a Call
When a call comes in, a sheet slides up in the bottom-right corner with the caller's name or number and two big buttons: green Answer and red Decline.
While You Are On a Call
A bar shows who you are talking to, how long you have been on, and four controls:
- Mute, so the caller cannot hear you.
- Hold, which parks the caller.
- Transfer, covered below.
- End call.
Transferring From the Browser
Tap Transfer and you get three ways out:
- AI assistant. Hand the call to your AI agent, with an optional short heads-up you type in, like "wants pricing for residential rekey." Tap Send to AI assistant. See Hand a Live Call to the AI With **9.
- Teammates. Pick a person and the call goes to them. Picking yourself sends it to your own cell, so you can walk away from the desk without dropping the customer.
- Another number. Type any phone number.
The customer hears a brief "please hold," and your end of the line drops as soon as the handoff completes.
**9 are for transferring from your cell, not from the browser. On a computer, use the on-screen Transfer button. See Cell Transfer Codes (Tech, AI, and Cancel). What Does Not Work on an Outbound Call
Handing a call to the AI works when a customer dialed your shop number. On a call you placed out, the browser only tracks your own end of the line, so it cannot hand the customer off.
Calling a Customer
Open a customer or a Colab and tap Call. On Pro that dials through your shop line, so the customer sees your business number instead of your personal cell.
