Turn On Two-Step Login

Why It Matters in a Locksmith Shop

Your KeyBolt account holds key codes, bitting, and safe combinations for every customer you have ever served. A password on its own is one stolen laptop away from all of it. Two-step login means someone with your password still cannot get in without your phone.

Turning It On

1. Go to Settings > Security. The first card is Two-Factor Authentication.
2. Tap Enable 2FA. A QR code appears.
3. Scan it with an authenticator app on your phone. Google Authenticator and Authy both work, and so do others.
4. Type the 6-digit code the app shows, then tap Verify & Enable.
5. Save your recovery codes. KeyBolt shows them once, on the next screen.

Recovery Codes

If you lose your phone, a recovery code is the only way back into your account. Each one works once. Keep them somewhere you can reach without your phone: a note in the safe, or a password manager on another device. There is a copy button that grabs them all at once.

If you skip this step and then lose the phone, you will have to email [email protected] to get back in.

Turning It Off

On the same card, tap Disable 2FA. KeyBolt asks for your password, a current 6-digit code, and a short security check before it will switch off, so someone sitting at your unlocked screen cannot quietly remove it.
