Notifications on Your Phone

Alerts on Your Lock Screen

The KeyBolt app can buzz your phone the second something happens. A tech gets a New job assigned alert the moment a job is dispatched to them, which is the whole point of it for a field crew.

These are separate from the bell icon on the website and separate from email. Turning one off does not change the others. See In-App Notifications.

What Can Buzz Your Phone

Everyone on your team, techs included, can get these. All four start on:

  • New job assigned to me, when a job is dispatched to you.
  • Added to a job's tech team, when someone adds you as a helper on a job.
  • Added to a conversation, when a teammate brings you into a Colab.
  • New customer added, when anyone on your team adds a customer.

Owners, managers, dispatchers, bookkeepers, and front desk also get these. The first five start on:

  • A bill gets paid.
  • Missed call, when a call comes in and nobody answers.
  • Estimate approved or declined.
  • New online order, when your store gets an order.
  • AI permission needed, when AI features switch off because permission is missing.
  • Low stock. Starts off.
  • Angry-caller alert, when the AI flags an upset caller worth reviewing. Starts off.
  • AI assistant cap reached. Starts off.

Where the Switches Are

In the app, tap More, then Settings, then Notifications. Each alert has its own on or off switch, and it applies to your phone only, not to your teammates'.

The Settings area of the app opens for owners, managers, and dispatchers. Everyone else still gets the alerts listed above, on their normal starting settings.

What the Alert Says

The alert on your lock screen never shows customer details. It says something short like "You have a new job." Open the app to see who and where. Tapping the alert opens the job, bill, or conversation it is about.

Nothing coming through? On Android, check Settings > Notifications > App notifications > KeyBolt. On an iPhone or iPad, check your phone's own Settings > Notifications > KeyBolt and make sure alerts are allowed. iOS asks once when you first sign in, and if someone tapped "Don't Allow" then, nothing warns you afterward.
