Vehicle Records
Be Ready for Automotive Calls
Automotive lockout jobs require specific tools, blanks, and information. Showing up to a 2022 Toyota Camry without the right transponder chip means a wasted trip. KeyBolt's vehicle records store everything you need for each customer's vehicle so you can grab the right gear before you leave the shop.
Adding a Vehicle to a Customer
- Open the customer's profile from the Customers tab.
- Scroll to the Vehicles section.
- Tap "+ Add Vehicle".
- Enter the vehicle details:
- Year — the model year.
- Make — manufacturer (Toyota, Ford, Honda, etc.).
- Model — specific model (Camry, F-150, Civic, etc.).
- VIN — the 17-character vehicle identification number. Used to look up exact key code and transponder requirements.
- Key blank number — the blank you need to cut a key for this vehicle (e.g., "TOY43," "H75").
- Transponder chip — the chip type required (e.g., "4D-67," "Texas Crypto 128-bit," "Philips 46").
- Remote type — the remote/fob model if applicable (e.g., "HYQ14FBA," "GQ4-52T").
- Tap Save.
You can add multiple vehicles per customer — families and businesses often have several.
Using Vehicle Records on a Job
When you create a car lockout job for a customer with vehicle records, KeyBolt shows the stored vehicle info on the job detail page. Before you leave, check the key blank, transponder chip, and remote type fields so you can grab everything you need in one trip. No more calling the customer back to ask "what kind of car is it again?"
