Pay More for Nights and Weekends
A Different Cut After Hours
A 2am lockout is not the same work as a Tuesday rekey. KeyBolt can pay a different commission rate on evening and weekend jobs, shop-wide, without you touching a single job.
Find it on the Team page, in the Time-of-day commission card. Only an owner or manager can change it, and it is off until you turn it on. This is on both plans, Basic and KeyBolt Pro.
Turning It On
- Go to Team in the sidebar.
- Find the Time-of-day commission card and switch on Use time-of-day rates.
- Set three percentages: Day rate, Evening rate, and Weekend rate. Each is between 0 and 100.
- Set what counts as evening: the hour it starts and the hour it ends. An evening that runs past midnight is fine.
- Save.
Saturday and Sunday count as weekend whatever the hour, so a Saturday evening job pays the weekend rate.
What Beats What
Three rates can apply to one job, and KeyBolt takes the first one it finds:
- A custom split on that single job, if you set one.
- The day, evening, or weekend rate, if this is switched on and the job qualifies.
- The tech's own percentage.
It Does Not Go Backwards
Turning this on only affects jobs created after you turn it on. Your existing jobs keep the rate they already had.
And once a job has been given its rate, that rate is fixed. Edit these percentages next month, or switch the whole thing off, and an old job's payout does not move. That is on purpose: money you already worked out should not change under you.
