Send a Receipt

Open any bill that is fully paid and tap Send Receipt. If the customer has an email saved, it goes there. If not, KeyBolt asks you for an address. The address does not have to be saved on the customer, so a walk-in or a property manager's bookkeeper is no problem: type whatever they tell you.

Right After You Take a Card

As soon as a card payment goes through, the payment screen offers a receipt before you close it:

  • Email a receipt, to any address you type.
  • Text a receipt, to any number you type. This sends from your own business line, so it needs KeyBolt Pro and an active subscription.

Give it a second after "Payment collected" before you tap Send. KeyBolt waits for the charge to settle, and a receipt won't go out until the bill reads paid.

Cash and Check

Same thing, one step earlier. Record the payment first, and once the bill reads Paid, tap Send Receipt. See Record Partial Payments for the Record Payment sheet.

Stripe's Own Receipt

If the customer had an email on file when you ran their card in person, Stripe sends its own receipt too. That one comes from Stripe, not from you, and it is separate from anything you send.

A Bill That Is Only Part Paid

Send Receipt only shows on a bill that is fully paid. If the customer still owes something, collect the rest first. See Record Partial Payments.

Tip: Ask where the receipt should go while you are still standing there. Chasing a property manager the next day for "which address do you want this at" costs more time than the receipt is worth.
