Put Your Products on Google
Show Up When People Search for What You Sell
Google Merchant Center is a free Google account that puts your products into Google's shopping results. Connect it once and KeyBolt keeps your listings in sync as your stock changes.
It's on both plans. An owner or manager can connect it.
Before You Connect
- Create a free Merchant Center account at merchants.google.com if you don't have one.
- Turn on your Online store. The feed only works when the store is on.
- Know which Google account owns your Merchant Center.
Connecting
- Go to Settings and open the Online store tab.
- Find the Google Merchant Center card and tap Connect Merchant Center.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns your Merchant Center and approve access.
You'll come back to a green Connected badge showing which account you linked and when it last synced.
What Gets Sent
Only items you've marked List for sale. Internal stock never leaves KeyBolt. Unlist an item and it's pulled from Google on the next sync.
Three optional fields on each inventory item make your listings better:
- Brand, who makes it. Kwikset, Schlage.
- Google category, picked from a list. Leave it on Let Google decide unless you know better. Don't guess: a wrong category gets products rejected.
- Barcode, the number under the barcode. Most locksmith parts don't have one, so leave it blank if you're unsure.
There's also Subcategory, which is your own grouping (like Deadbolts under Lock Hardware). That one is yours to organize however you like, and Google reads it as your product type, which is different from the Google category above.
How Long It Takes
Sync runs about once an hour, so changes are not instant. After that, Google reviews products on its own schedule, which can take days. Right after you connect, the card will say your feed will be created on the next sync. That's expected.
If Something Goes Wrong
Failed syncs show in the card as a red "Last sync failed" message with the reason. If connecting fails outright, contact [email protected]: Google requires KeyBolt to approve your account for access, and that's a step we do at our end.
Disconnect Merchant Center stops the sync. Your listings on Google may stop showing. You can reconnect any time.
