Turn On AI Features for Your Shop
Turning It On
- Go to Settings > AI. The top card is Third-party AI processing.
- Tap Allow AI processing.
- Tap Allow AI to confirm.
Only the shop owner and managers can change it. The banner on the card always tells you which way it is set: a green AI processing is allowed, or an amber AI processing is paused.
What Stays Off Until You Allow It
- AI receptionist for after-hours and overflow calls
- Sending a live call to the AI assistant
- Call recordings turned into transcripts
- Call summaries and follow-up details
- Reading inbound emails into job drafts
- Sorting inbound email and filtering junk
- The AI helper in your dashboard
- Knowledge-base search and answers
With permission off, the AI helper answers every question with a note asking for permission. KeyBolt also puts an amber bar across the top of the dashboard, "AI features are turned off for this shop", with a link straight to the switch and a See what is off list.
What Gets Sent, and to Whom
The card names the providers: Google Gemini and OpenAI through Vercel AI Gateway, and Telnyx AI, Deepgram, and Telnyx-provided language models for the optional AI receptionist. Only what a feature needs goes out:
- AI helper questions and the shop records needed to answer them
- Inbound email text and selected PDF work orders
- Call audio and transcripts, when the AI phone features are on
- Knowledge-base documents you upload for AI search
Stored key codes, bitting data, and safe combinations are never sent, whatever this is set to. Your conversations and documents are not used to train anyone's model.
Changing Your Mind
Permission covers the whole shop, and the owner or a manager can withdraw it at any time with Withdraw AI permission on the same card. Withdrawing stops all eight features at once. Turning it back on takes two taps, and nothing is lost in between.
